Riding the wave of International Women’s Day and the WILPF Centennial, celebrations are taking place around the country. The UN Commission on the Status of Women opens in New York City, with university students and WILPF members in attendance. Meanwhile the US and Russia face off in Ukraine.

During February, the United States and Russia engaged in dangerous games of nuclear chicken over Ukraine. Ironically, on March 1, Helen Caldicott Foundation’s seminar discussed nuclear weapons and the possible extinction of humanity. WILPF’s Ray Acheson facilitated that last day. International Water DayCelebrating International Water Day
WILPF Fresno will present the award-winning documentary Oil & Water on March 20 at Fresno State University for International Water Day. Members also speak out against sky-rocketing water rates for a new $429 million water treatment plant the city doesn’t need. Read more >>

Dr. Norma Vasallo Barrueta has received clearance for a US tour from April 18 to June 10, 2015. WILPF had invited the University of Havana professor for a 2014 speaking tour, but she received her visa too late – a tactic used to undermine US tours. Read more >>
