Please Welcome Our 2015 Term Board Members! WILPF US SECTION MEMBERSHIP ELECTION RESULTS Announced – February 23, 2015
Congratulations to everyone on the just-concluded 2015 Board Term Elections for four national Board positions and for a clarifying amendment to our bylaws. And many thanks to our District of Columbia branch for so graciously agreeing to count our ballots and doing so in such good order! We had 270 ballots cast by the postmark deadline of February 11, 2015. All four of our candidates were elected to the positions for which they ran, and the bylaws amendment passed. We thank our departing board members whose terms are ending, Peggy Luhrs (At-Large), Deb Holley (Secretary) and Robin Lloyd (Development) for their excellent service during the inaugural board term of the new “staggered” board terms design. The 2014 Term Board has been through many bumps in the road as we move toward greater transparency and inclusiveness, and step-up our listening skills throughout the section. Big congratulations, thanks and best wishes to our three members who stepped up willing to work for the section by serving on the national board, and heartfelt thanks to our incumbent board member, who chose to run again after having just completed a year of service in her position. Here are the results and detailed vote tallies. Our new 2015 Term Board Members will be joining the continuing members of the board at an assessment and planning meeting to be held in Houston, Texas, this week on February 26 through March 2. Please direct any questions that you may have to the national nominating committee chair, Barbara L Nielsen, at bln.sf.ca@gmail.com. Let’s keep communicating and working together to move us forward as we begin our second century!
