  • WILPF US Board meeting Tuesday, November 11, 2014

Dear Members: The transition work is progressing and inching its way forward. It's been about four weeks since Paula Herrington (Interim Director) came on board; she is in the process of drafting the 2015 budget, working with Catherine Brady on keeping bills and contractual arrangements ongoing, helping with members' concerns, overseeing Ariane's work, assessing our needs, and generally keeping WILPF US on track during a difficult and anxiety-provoking time.

Ariane is in the office four days a week and the fifth day (Tuesday) Catherine comes in to do the bookkeeping. Paula is in contact with Ariane Blondin on a daily basis and works directly with Catherine on financial matters weekly or whenever needed. She is also in touch with IT/communications contractor Glenn Ruga, who works from his own office. Click here to read consultant biographies.

I will be in Boston November 1 — 10 and will meet with Paula and interested WILPF members. The trip was not planned as a "formal" event, rather building connections and keeping informed about financial matters as well as looking toward 2015-2016 issues and demands.

While we are in the process of transforming WILPF's future, we regret to announce that past-president and ex officio member of the Board, Laura Roskos, resigned. Her leadership with the CSW projects leaves a significant legacy for WILPF US and WILPF UNO/International It is my hope that her future is filled with more projects and new horizons.

The GROWING WILPF! fundraising campaign: The capacity campaign committee sent out letters this month to the Detroit Congress attendees asking for their support. If you are one of those wonderful WILPFers, I look forward to hearing from you and thank you!

LOOK FOR: The WILPF Board Election dates will be forthcoming in the next few days.

Next Board Meeting: Tuesday, November 11 (what better day than Armistice Day) 5:30 pm PT/ 8:30 pm ET   Call in: 857-232-0158   921818   Non-board members: if you want to receive reports, please register before Saturday, November 8 at president@wilpfus.org
